- If a parent has hurt you or abandoned you, remember Colossians 3:13: “Forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Even if a parent never apologizes or never comes back, ask God to help you forgive. Bitterness takes a far bigger toll on the unforgiver than on the unforgiven.
