>> Thoughts to Ponder

  • Bad stuff happens in this world. But we know that the outcome of life is certain: God wins, and he will make everything right in the end. Good will overcome evil. For more reassurance, read Matthew 16:18, Romans 12:21 and Revelation 17:14. We don’t have to be afraid!
  • When you feel afraid and your thoughts are running away with you, remind yourself who God is. It’s a little exercise called “rehearsing God’s characteristics.” Remind yourself what you know about God—that he is good, that he is strong, that he is loving, that he is faithful, that he’ll never leave you, that he’s always with you, etc. Memorize Psalm 62:11–12 and say it to yourself over and over again: “One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong, and that you, O Lord, are loving.”
